About Poverty Knob

Who are we and what do we do?

Good question, but I am not sure how to answer it!

As the sub-header of the blog states "I am an Auctioneer / Horse Farmer with a Goat addiction, and a usually  understanding wife!"
I started this blog to let people know about our Goats Milk Soap, then it started to take on a life of it's own. I have many interests including cooking, gardening, canning, sustainable agriculture and general self preservation.
We have a wide variety of animals around here including Draft Horses, Goats, Donkeys, Dogs, too many Cats, Cattle and the occasional pig. We are located about 40 miles West of Wichita KS.

Our Goats Milk Soap business started started more by accident than by design. I started making soap because I didn't like the idea of using store bought / detergent soap. I gave away a lot of  "ugly" soap to family & friends, then people started asking where they could "Buy" some of my soap. Being of the entrepreneurial spirit, I said "From me!" Thus, a business was born.
We now have several stores carrying our soap and we still direct market to individuals.
Enjoy and come back often.
